Ganapathi, Ambassador of India to Kuwait and Mrs. Uma Ganapathi
at The Hilton Kuwait Resort on Thursday, 9th March, 2006 |

A
welcome dinner meet was organized by the Indian Business
Council, Kuwait at The Hilton Kuwait Resort on 9th March, 06.
Large number of members and guests welcomed the new Ambassador
of India to Kuwait H.E. M.Ganapathi and his wife Mrs.Uma
Ganapathi.
Joint Secretary Mr. Ramesh Kohli during his introductory remarks
narrated the activities of IBC and in particular the timely
guidance and tremendous support received from the Indian Embassy
and its staff, contribution of Senior Advisors / Members, past
Executive Committee members and members in general for IBC’s
growth and direction. |

IBC Chairman Mr. S.K.
Wadhawan welcomed the Ambassador and Mrs. Uma ji, and narrated
the experiences and contribution of the council in promoting the
business relations between Kuwait and India as also the
representations made by IBC.
He assured full
support of IBC to the Ambassador and at the same time sought his
continuous patronage. He advised the members regarding IBC’s
participation in the forthcoming GCC-India Industrial Conference
being held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. |

During his address
H.E.Mr Ganapathi appreciated the role played by IBC in
developing India – Kuwait relations and desired IBC to give the
necessary momentum. He spoke on the role of Economic Diplomacy
in current times. India is on the move with economic
development, particularly with the opening up of its economy.
Immense economic opportunities are available for investment. And
global perception of India has seen a great change. |

The Ambassador also
stressed on larger participation by members of IBC in the 2nd
GCC-India Industrial Conference in Muscat on 25th and 26th
March, 2006. He wished well for IBC and assured of the Embassy’s
continued support. His remarks that it felt like coming “HOME”
in Kuwait were very well received by the audience. |

Mr. Rishikant Singh
of Air India made a spectacular and lively presentation on the
emerging Indian economic scene and the immense opportunity areas
for investment and growth which was applauded by the audience.
The unique presentation arranged by Mr. Singh and his wife Mrs
Suneeta Singh shall be of great value for inviting investment in
India |

The meeting concluded
by a vote of thanksby the Hon.Treasurer Mr. Ramesh Khanna and
was followed by a sumptuous dinner by the beach side. |
